Hi All Ive managed to get a used K8V SE Deluxe motherboard off ebay that was supposed to be working 100%. Ive installed the board ok with no pci cards (just and AGP graphics card, processor memory and drives) and installed windows with no problems whatsoever - system boots great with no errors. I then tried to install all my PCI cards again and there is the problem. No matter what i do i can get the board to recognise ANY of my PCI cards no matter what slot i put them in. ive tried EVERYTHING : reinstall of windows with and without cards in slots. swapping the cards round flashing the bios wipipng the cmos manually setting PCI IRQ settings etc nothing i do gets any of my cards to be recognised. none of them seem to show up in the POST (where all you pci devices are listed along with all your drives etc) and ive even tried to boot the machine with a PCI graphics card which displays nothing. The only thing is i cant see there being a problem with any components of the board as windows has managed to install fine. i would imagine if one of the controllers on the board blew i wouldnt even get the machine to boot let alone install windows. It seems as though the PCI config is stuck to the old uesrs cards and i cant seem to find a way of resetting it. Im really at my wits end with this and ive run out of things to try so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Gareth.
you may be leaving the jumper configuration at 2-3 pin setting check it and maybe the pci controller damaged but working if a hard overload on slots (voltage rising etc.) happens its some transistors are damaged inside but it will not reflect it to windows too much as bothering you by giving errors because simply pcis' are not a general concern of system are you sure your pci cards are working
