I am building a computer and the only things i have installed into the case is the motherboard, cpu, 3 fans, psw and a heatsink. I have no memory, hard drive, cd player, or floppy drive.

I want to know is it ok to turn on the computer. So i can get to the bios and check to see if the motherboard reads the cpu.

could this ruin the motherboard if i do this.

    Please reply

Nothing will happen. You need RAM and a video card to produce an image. No damage will be done, but you will not be able to access your bios. Stick some ram in it, and boot up.

Technnically he could get in the BIOS with RAM and without a video card, but he would have to know the menu by heart. Therefore yes, get a video card before doing this

You could navigate throught the bios with a manual.. But you'd probably ending up OC'ing your CPU to hell and setting a password!
