Asus Saber tooth 990FX problem

Hi,

I'm having a weird problem with my mobo, i installed a while ago, everything runs fine, however once in a while it just shuts off (no blue screen or anything) and attempts to restart but the CPU red light stays on, the only way i can get it to start afterwards is to disconnect all the power from the PSU to the mobo and then reconnect and it usually starts, I'm a bit worried about this issue because it has already happened a few times...

Any idea what could be causing that?
 
Sounds like it might be a heat issue , Check the CPU fan and thermal paste...To me it sounds like it is getting too Hot..Also could be the PSU ..
 
It does not seem to be a heat issue. i have an aftermarket cooler from Coolermasters and the top temp under load on the CPU is around 38c. I have had issues with the RAM before though, is there any chance it could cause that? and why would reconnecting the power to the MOBO fix it temporarily? i had a issue before with the ram, the automatic setting didnt seem to work and i had to press the mem ok button to get it to work.
 
I find it weird that unplugging the PSU from the MOBO seems to fix it and turning the PSU off on the switch doesn't x_X that doesnt seem to make sense to me
 
Well then it is either the PSU, Or your Motherboard... Try another PSU to see if it happens, If it does, then it is the Motherboard..
 
Update on this issue, i found some info on other forums about other people having similar issues on the same board, they recommended turning off ECC on the ram settings and setting the voltage, timing and frequency of the ram manually, after doing all of it i have been running stable for 15hs so far, left it under load over night to test stability and its still going strong.
 
This is good to Know, Lets hope it solves your problem.... I guess that there is a defect in that Motherboard, I have not had to good of luck with Asus Motherboards, That is why I mainly use Gigabyte Motherboards.. Good luck..
