I ran across this on the front page of [H]ard|OCP, and it really leaves me wondering what the hell has been happening to ATi as of late.

This time they sent just a link with no explanation on certified ATI cards. I get the impression they are trying to say the the HIS card I purchased was not eligible for the offer as it in not a "certified" card. HIS has many certified cards, but not this one. Well the offer does not state that as a requirement, so I had to go back and click "No this does not solve my problem" and send a forth message...

Now, I don't know if this is limited to HIS produced Crossfire compatible cards or not, but given ATi's recent set of fumbles, this rant at Tech Cove doesn't boost confidence in ATi. I'm really hoping this is just a rare incident and that ATi isn't backsliding. We shall see...

Hope that is just a one off, one thing that annoys me more than anything is a company with bad customer support, and that can seriously affect sales.

It would appear that the problem lies with HIS but there's only so much conclusive evidence to support any claims. I haven't tried a crossfire product so I can't really voice my opinion on the matter any more than to say that I hope it's just a short lived rough path in ATI's marketing and developement. They make good cards and I doubt I'll ever use Crossfire so I for one am not deeply saddened by this, I just feel for the people who are having headaches over it.

Under normal circumstances, this probably wouldn't be an issue, but ATi's Crossfire isn't as impressive as SLI in general, and the availability is an issue. I'm hoping this is all just bad luck for ATi, as I know Kyle (owner of [H]) isn't one to really mince words and can be an SOB sometimes, but still---this is the type of press you don't want.
