Trying to fully remove Norton because I got rid of it a few weeks ago and now when I have a file sent to me via AIM (Aol IM), It goes through and then when it completes, a box with an error pops up telling me it can't find Norton blah blah blah (insert long string here).....so I figured I'd remove it and following a few online tips on how to successfully do this, I got to the point where I have to back up my system registry......it failed saying this exactly:

    Backup Status
    Operation: Backup
    Active backup destination: File
Media name: "Backup.bkf created 6/26/2006 at 6:01 PM"

Backup (via shadow copy) of "System State"
Backup set #1 on media #1
Backup description: "Set created 6/26/2006 at 6:01 PM"
Media name: "Backup.bkf created 6/26/2006 at 6:01 PM"

    Backup Type: Copy

Error: Could not access portions of directory System State\COM+ Class Registration Database.
You may not have permission to open the file, or the directory may be missing or damaged.

Critical files that make up System State were not successfuly backed up.
Restoring this backup set will cause system failure.

Just wondering as I am the admin with priveleges as far as I know, what can I do? Am I wrong at assuming that when I named myself the admin, all the permissions were to automatically be there for this scenario or do I have to initiate those permissions manually before doing something like this?
