    Hi,

Blue screens can be caused by a lot of different things. They can be hardware or software related. The first thing I would do is to run a memory test on your RAM to see if any of them have gone bad. Microsoft has a memory test, but there is also one called Memtest86+. Run the scan for a few hours to check for bad ram. If you get any errors running the tests, it means some of your Ram has gone bad. Also, if you have added any new hardware or software recently just before these errors started happening, it may be worth it to uninstall it to see if that resolves the problem. Also, blue screens can be caused by bad drivers or corrupted drivers, so you can try installing the latest drivers for your hardware as well.

You said you ran Check disk, did it find any errors? Harddrives with bad sectors on them can cause blue screens as well. Also, something else you can try is doing a system restore if possible to a point before you were getting the errors incase it is being caused by software on your computer. In any event, I would start with testing your RAM first. Another way to test the Ram too is to take all of it out and just test it one stick at a time to see if it is a particular stick causing the problem. If one works, swap it out with the next one, and so on. Also, when you get the blue screen, does it give you a particular error message everytime that you can remember? Not sure what kind of video card you have but I saw a computer today giving errors in regards to ati which gave an indication it was the videocard/ driver. I replaced the card and installed updated driver and so far my user has not reported any more problems. If you can record the message the pc is giving you, you can google it or post it incase someone here is familiar with the error.

My first Question is (How much ram do you have ) ???? What does it do ? how long does it take before it will get the BSOD ??
