    Hello everyone,

I recently bought some components to upgrade my pc. These consist of a new cpu, motherboard, video card and psu.

The main issue I'm having is now in games my FPS is lower in games, and freezing even.

The cpu is - AMD Phenom II X6 1055T
Video card - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460
    Motherboard - Asus m4a785-m

Everything runs fine except for the frame rate and some flickering.

I've updated everything, or atleast thought I did.

Hopefully you guys can help, thanks so much!

    Hi,

Did you do a clean install when you installed the new parts? Sometimes, old and new drivers for different system board can conflict. If you didnt do a fresh install, you can try running CCleaner utility, its a free utility you can download. It will clean up old files on your hard drive, but it also has a feature that will clean the registry as well. Just make sure you back up your registry before you clean it, just in case. Also, the newest drivers, especially for video cards are not always the best, they can be buggy. Try an older video driver maybe for your video card to see if there is any change. Can also try running a memory test to see if there is a problem with RAM. Make sure you have proper driver from AMD to support that CPU as well. I remember having to download something from AMD to get the most out of my dual core processor when I first installed it. Is it just one game having a problem with frames, or all games? Also, reseat your memory, video card, and cables just in case something is loose. If you dont have a clean install, maybe try running a disk defrag as well.
