Straight and simple. I have and AMD 3500+ socket AM2 orleans at stock speeds. It is running at 60 degrees C under load, sometime a few degrees over 60. Is this too hot.
Are these temperatures according to a software program like Speedfan or according to your BIOS? Also, how long have you had this CPU for and did you keep the retail Thermal Paste on it, or did you buy another brand and apply it?
Has this been like this for a while or was it gradual?
I would say the first thing you should do is go out and buy a can of air and blow out your whole computer and pay special attention to the CPU area, I would also buy a new thermal compound (I reccomend Artic Silver).
Clean all the thermal compound off your CPU and reapply the new Thermal Compound you get (Look online for a guild, you can probably find one that matches your CPU/Heatsink)
