Hi all, This is my first post in the forum. I hope to get some help in choosing buying a RAM for my existing system. Details of my current system: Processor: AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black edition (soon to be replaced by X6 1075T) Mobo: MSI 890GXM-G65 (MS-7642) GFX: ATI Raedon 5870 (Eyefinity edition) Monitor: 1920x1080(p) RAM: 2x2GB (Corsair XMS3 DDR3 1600, 8-8-8-24 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145263. Link is only for reference) However my current settings for RAM are as shown in CPU-z Memory Frequency 666.7 MHz (3:10) CAS# latency (CL) 9.0 RAS# to CAS# delay (tRCD) 9 RAS# Precharge (tRP) 9 Cycle Time (tRAS) 24 Bank Cycle Time (tRC) 34 Command Rate (CR) 1T I want to buy a new set of rams preferably 16GB ones, I wanted to know which ones to buy. Should I buy rated ones of my existing RAM or a RAM that has my current settings. Also I havent overclocked my RAM so far in last 2 years, wondering why the motherboard chose 666.7 mem clock freq(is it defaut value , as far as i know 800 is supported) and can I overclock it. In short just wanted to know the best match that would give me an optimum performance boost. Hope things are clear. Thanks - AJ
Any ideas any one please? I managed to overclock the memory frequency to 1600 and reduce the latencies to 8-8-8-24.
