    i think i acquired a virus. i had to re-install windows (on my cleaned hard drive), but now my computer does not see or recognize my additional, external hard drive. neither does my other computer. the HD light comes on, and i sense vibration, as if it is functional, but it still is not seen by either computer. this started only after the apparent virus infection on my internal hard drive.

    is there anything i can do? could a virus have gotten to it and block access?

    Sup man, There are som trojans/virus's that will create a hard drive and hide it on ur system. but never herd of a virus blocking the drive.

    best thing to do is run a few troubleshooting methods such as;

    1: ) Make sure that all cables are connected properly from the device to the pc (usb or Power)

    2: ) Try using different usb ports, as somtimes the port u are trying to use doesn't detect the device

    3: ) see if you can see the device on the device manager and needs to be installed

    4: ) trying using the device on another machine a friends, familys pc or just if u got a spare 1 lying around

    hope this helps

    Mew!
