try installing flash 7 into Swiftfox directory (/opt/swiftfox) but flash won't work[ot]i can't find anything related to telling Swiftfox where flash is, i've also tried installing into FF directory - no luck[/ot]
There are 3 ways to install Flash (or any plugins for Firefox). Install it in the global mozilla plugins directory. On most systems, this is /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/ Install it in the Firefox (Swiftfox) only plugin directory, e.g. /opt/swiftfox/plugins/ Install it on the local profile for a single user only, e.g. ~/.mozilla/plugins/
right, fixed it, none of install locations you suggested worked, but when i did a manual install (copy flashplayer.xpt & libflashplayer.so) to /opt/swiftfox/plugins and i chose skip when prompted (file were not visible, but are now)
Uhhh Huhhhhh... ...So I didn't suggest that? [ot] Swiftfox is just an optimized build of Firefox. In other words, it is Firefox, but built architecture-specific so it'll run faster on those systems. Otherwise, there is no difference at all.[/ot] P.S. - Flash 7 barely works for anything these days, you might be better off with the Linux beta of Flash 9: Adobe Labs - Downloads: Flash Player 9 Update
[ot] *Karan will try flash 9, keep you updated, thankies "Swiftfox" "apparently the new name for Donkeyor is it Swiftfox42[/ot]
[ot] Which means Firefox = Swiftfox So Logically, your new name Should be Firefox42 coz it is more popular [/ot]
[ot] :uugly:ewwww......No good, Firefox should be inside the name as it is, other than that add Swift where ever you want....... in thr front of in the back [/ot]
[ot]This is probably the most off-topic content in a technical thread ever. You guys should probably move this to the general chat forum, IM, or something. [/ot]
