XP Shut down Problem Hi, Every time i try to shut down my pc "CCAPP.exe" turns rogue! it goes nonresponsive and i can never shutdown my computer properly, so i can never save user settings (real pain in the arse). i've tried reinstalling windows for rundll32, and i have tried reinstalling norton but neither have worked! are there any know software conflicts with norton that couse this kind of thing? Any help is apreciated! regards
It should'nt be an incompatibility issue but is possible. If it is a pirated version im not suprised that its pi**ing you off. There is a way to configure windows to just end the process immediately and it shuts down normally as ive had this problem and just ignored it. What version are you running?
I let the process bar go up, but it fails to end the process and i have to click end task or it cancells the shut down.
hmmmm, maybe this'll work. try downloading a trial version of TuneUp Utilities 2004 and then do this: Start it> tuneup system control> administration> start and maintenance> programs and then check the "close programs automatically" radio button and change the response time in milliseconds to 1500! All this does is end the process after 1500 milliseconds and lets the computer shut down!
Thanks a Bunch! U've really helped, i'll write in here aain in ten mins to let u know if its worked! Regards, Morgan
glad it worked and no worries at all, thats whats were here for. oh and BTW you were 12 minutes not ten hehe lol
i used to have that problem, but it would only say that CCAPP.exe isnt responding (when i shut the computer down) after i had used the floppy drive (which wasnt very often) whenever i didnt use it, it would never give me any grief, when i did it wouldn't respond and my computer wouldnt shut down (then my floppy drive would make strange noises) i uninstalled norton and re-installed it and it worked (but now i am using mcafee internet security suite 2005)
