i have a laptop and i had upgrade its rum from 1 to 2,5 GB and i want to play a game that requires Hardware T&L and Vertex Shader version 2.0 and i want to ask if it is possible to change the sharde memory from 128 to 512 and how or if this is not supported if i can change the Mobile 945GM/PM/GMS, 943/940GML and 945GT Express Memory Controller Hub with somthng that is more good.
Hi, You can try to increase the amount of shared memory by changing the settings in the BIOS. Not sure its possible with all types of laptops, but this site shows you how to do it. Even the laptops that say they have a discrete video solution seem to have the video chips as part of the system board from what I have seen. The dell machines that have an integrated chip and a discrete chip say if you have video problems to replace the entire board, and from the teardowns I looked at, the video is part of the board itself.
