    Until now, I had never seen XGL in action. All those wobbly windows and effects look great.

    For those not in the know, XGL is what you might call a challenger to WIndows Aero Glass. Except XGL looks better and doesn't require 2008-specification hardware :)

    dam, that looks amazing, megamaced; would be interested to know what you think, if you install it?

    btw: is ATI linux support still pretty bad?

    I tried to install it a few months back on my Kubuntu box. It would have worked fine had the computer not been using an integrated Intel Extreme Graphics processor :D

    I might try it on my other machine as it's got an nVidia Geforce2 Ultra. But XGL is still in beta (as far as I am aware) so it's not 100% bug free yet.

    As for the ATi drivers, I don't think they are as bad as they were. You might want to check out the Ubuntu ATi Driver Wiki for more information

    ATi drivers may have improved, but they've still never worked properly on my mobility Radeon X700. I'm sure that they work, as some users have no problems with them.

    And XGL, well, stuff that Aero.
