Check this thing out

thats pretty cool, they need to make on thats more versatile, there aint gona be much hot air floating around a 5.25 inch drive bay, although with 100cfmit would just suck out all hot air anyway, so it sounds quite good, maybe putting it at the top of a case would be good, like at the top on the side they should make one for that (or you could cut holes)
 
yeah, if its that quiet and moves that much air then i may have to reconsider my fan options, (if its cheap)
 
Just put it in the top 5.25 bay, then you get CD drive heat and everything else. That way you take the load off the PSU to remove all the heat. But i think it costs around $20. I know, expensive, but worth it. I moves the same amount of air as a 92 mm Tornado but less than half the volume.
 
yeah tornados are loud, i always expect a pc to take off as they sound like they're about to reach take off speed, price isn't bad for something with that air movement and low noise
 
if it blows in your case, you could put a vent blowing into your heatsink

100CFM...either that or the sound isn't accurate. You're gonna get a hell of a whooshing sound with that much air moving.
 
You can look at the link. It isn't a fan, it's like a turbine/wheel thing. Doesn't spin at relly high RPMs. But if it is in the top 5.25 bay there will be heat. It will be more efficient with anempty bay under it, but moving 100 CFM it will still pull all the air out of your case no matter where it is.
 
Yea, I'm wondering if I can switch the polarity on the power plug so the motor runs in reverse. If I can then it will actually serve a good purpose. After all, my CPU fans intake toward the front of the case and exhaust out the back.
