I want to build a computer for my brother for Christmas. Does anyone have any thoughts on this build? I'm trying to keep it at around $600. Any suggestions will be highly appreciated.
Forget about the 7600Gt get the 8600GT also you could try and get a better PSU like the Hiper580watt oh and if you on a budget get this CPU instead E2160 don't know how that fits in with your budget but try and see if you can get them. Just overclock the E2160 and its as good as any dual core out there. As for a CD drive why not try an LG or Asus they make good dvd/cd drives.
Replace 8600GT to at least HD3850. Take 2160, Zalman 9500/9700LED/NT (I'm using NT and im very happy with it - cpu stays cool idle 800 rpm [email protected] ghz 28C; Under load rpm goes up to 1700).

One option would be changing the case to somthing cheaper if the budget is a problem. As sombody has said changing the X1950 Pro to SAPPHIRE 100216L Radeon HD 3850 256MB Would be good and that would bring the total to $706.79
