lol, boys don't enjoy reading as much as girls? Haha, I didn't know this. And it says in the article that the "culture is such that it's still okay for boys not to enjoy reading" ... weird. Is this a British phenomenon? Is that British culture they're analyzing in that statement there? I mean I know boys like to distract themselves from studying with computer/video games, but I still haven't noticed a major difference between girl and boy reading while I was growing up.

:) Not looked at the link yet but no, boys dont read much at all in the uk. In fact I dont know anyone to have read a book. Ive read about 3. I dont know how people find the time. Plus I dont see the point in reading stories.

EDIT: Thelink is talking about children.... thats when the book reading seed would the sown. Best time to learn to read fluently. I have to read a paragrapha good 2-3 times before I get it! Surely if I learnt to read at a younger age I wouldn't have that problem.

EDIT: I always miss the "n't" from wouldn't!
