    Hi Guys

Up until now my computer was swtiching off properley, as I used to go on start, turn off computer. But recently when I do this it starts switching off, but right until the very end just before it goes off it freezes, thus I have to switch it off from the mains. I don't like the idea off doing this as I have been told if I keep doing this it could corrupt the drive, that is why the turn off button is there. I have no choice other then to do this.

I am using windows xp home, and i have and average 512 mb ram, 1.7 processor, and an 80 gig hard drive. I have tried the power button options, but don't know what I am really doing.

    Please help. Thanks ash

You have a program/software issue,What was that last thing you installed?
how long has it been doing this ? You could use system restore, to restore to an earlier point. Have you run Antivirus and spyware software?
