Hey guys well im on a laptop now because i think my windows crashed on my pc. i have a copy of a windows xp pro cd so i think i may explain it? anyways i logged on the my computer and all i can see is my backround of my desktop and no icons or anything so i tried going in on another account and same thing so i tried to go in on safe mode but that would not work. so i formatted using the xp cd and it all worked great so i did all the updates and got sp2 and searched for sound drivers and found some but not to sure if they were the correct one for my onboard sound, i had to restart my pc after the instal and now the windows is messed up again it just saty at the screen where it sais "windows is starting up" ????

what was the last thing you installed before you restarted your pc, sounds like somthing you installed is causing this, i would make a 2nd instalation of windows xp to trouble shoot the problem by installing programs and restarting and then installing another program and restarting, and so on, untill you see the problem.

ok well i put the xp cd in and tried to do the repair options and it brought me to the command prompt or dos w/e so it gave me an installation and called it numkber 1 so i typed 1 and pressed enter and then it said c:\windows so then i was screwed and did not know what to do ? so i just formated it again from there maybe i will have better luck because last time i formated it with the xp cd
