    Hello all,

I just dropped 700 dollars on an EVGA X58 SLi + i7920 and some RAM. I know that the EVGA has a PCI-E 2.0 port, but I'm already seeing cards that are PCI-E 2.1!! So here are my questions:

    1) Can I run a 2.1 in a 2.0 slot? (Ex. HD5970 in my PCIE 2.0)

    2) I've heard rumors of PCI-E 3.0, when do you guys think it will come out? The reason why I ask is because EVGA offers a step-up plan. So, within three months of buying your board, you can upgrade motherboards simply by paying the difference for the new one.

Thanks for your help guys :)

    Andrew

Hey thanks, I saw that thread too, but I also would like to know if the PCIE 3.0 will be coming out soon?

    Thanks
