Connecting two routers together?

Hi there,

I am hoping someone could help me with a small problem i am having with my home network. I have a Sky broadband wireless router to which my linux box is connected. My linux box has an IP address of 192.168.0.4 and the router has an IP address of 192.168.0.1.

Due to the fact that i am in an old large house the wireless network from the sky router doesnt reach to the computer in my bedroom. So what i did was to take an old wireless router i had kicking about (Linksys BEFW11S4) and connect this to my Sky router. This Linksys router has an internet IP address of 192.168.0.6 and a local IP address of 192.168.1.1 and the computer in my bedroom (Windows XP) has an IP address of 192.168.1.101 assigned to it.

Now i can connect to my shared folders on my linux box from my bedroom machine but not vice versa, how might i go about sorting this out?

yes it is possible to setup 2 routers the way your trying to just look at option 3 configuration for help here, but, i have to say your creating your own headache if you continue, you could simply get a bigger aerial for your single sky router (with a higher db (decibel) rating than your routers) or add a wireless extender or even go completely over the top and get 1 of these
