hello guys.
I have an older HP Compaq desktop PC - Pentium IV inside. Few days ago it started beeping, then shuts down immediately. Now, after boot up I get a following message: "CPU fan not functioning. Check cables or call service. Computer will shut down immediately". And it goes off after ten beeps - 5 seconds. I cannot enter BIOS. CTRL+ALT+DEL works, but that's not much help.
CPU fan indeed does not work. But when I attach the fan to the other connector on motherboard, it works ok. Also, when I attach system fan to CPU FAN connector, system fan doesn't work. So, I guess, somehow, that CPU FAN connector is busted.
But, how can I overcome that message that appears after boot up. Is there any way I can trick the motherboard that CPU FAN is working?
I mean, this is really strange, never seen something like this before, but, you know, world is a big place, maybe someone has...
Any help would be appreciated
