Crossfire on NF4

It's the talk of the town that ATi's crossfire is coming out to challenge Nvidia's SLI technology. Initial reviews look very promising except for the fact that, atleast in the start, ATi's crossfire would only be supported by especial ATi Mobo's. In simple words NOT NF4.

If this is true, wouldn't everyone be stuck either to Nvidia or ATi because of their mobo,..??
 
If its not possible for Crossfire on nVidia chipsets, then it would seem so.
Problem is ATi still don't have as quality and stable chipsets, especially the southbridge as nVidia's.
 
though Ati and Nvidia are talking about putting their cards together on a video array which would readjust to work optimally on any two nvidia and ati cards, if it's succesful expect it on both nvidia and ati chipsets on dual or more pciex16 slots.
