    Hi,

I bought a DELL Dimension PC about a year ago and now i want to upgrade the memory. Currently the memory is DDR2 533MHz SDRAM Memory for Dimension. Furthermore it is 2pc of 512MB.

Now i want to upgrade by buying 1pc of DDR2 533MHz SDRAM Memory with 1GB.
But i don't want to buy with DELL since the price is too expensive. If i buy elsewhere, it is advice able?? I also ask the DELL support, they said it will not effect the warranty and the ON SITE SUPPORT ENGINEER also says i can buy it? But there can be very sure!!!

Will the motherboard can support 1pc 1GB RAM in one DIMM slot and 2 pc 512MB in another 2 slot? There are 4 DIMM Slots. Please advice

    Thank you.:D

if it is 2 pieces made up to provide dual channel you gotta take out the other sticks and install the new one but you can sell them and buy a dual channel 1 gb kit or 2gb dual kit too

    the choice is yours
