I got ahold of a Dell Inspiron 1100 laptop, and it seems to have some problems.

It had 2 copies of Windows XP installed, and I could boot one up only on safe mode, with fuzzy graphics. I decided to wipe the harddrive with a bootable cd with DNuke on it. After it started wiping I got a Kernal Panic.

I also tried alot of other programs to wipe the harddrive including several other windows xp cd's. All of them seemed to have froze during setup.

    Can anyone help me out?

    Thanks in advance.

Dban won't work because I get a Kernel Panic, which stops the program.

Also, I ran memtest on it (which worked fine) and it said there are no problems.

    Hi

Can you run the windows XP set-up ? If so, does it recognise the hard drive(s) and will it allow you to partition them? If so, at what stage does the set-up freeze?
