I have had a problem with my dell laptop power socket.

I had the power cable plugged in while using the computer and then started noticing the laptop switching to battery power. By jiggling the power cable a bit at the socket it would switch back to a/c power.

After a while I it became harder to get the a/c power to work, so I assumed the power cable was faulty, and purchased a new one once the a/c power stopped working completly.

Once the new power cable arrived, it still didn't work. So now I think the socket itself at the back of the laptop is the problem.

How easy is it to purchase a replacement, and would it be easy to remove and replace the faulty one?

I would appreciate any tips or advice.

    Thanks
