Ok i have a Dell 8200 PC that i have had for about 3 years, and i need to upgrade my memory, I have four slots and two are being used at this time too give me 256 mb of Ram, here is what Dell sales and i was woundering if anyone knows where i can find it cheaper?
DELL - 512 MB Module for a Dell Dimension 8200 Series (400 MHz FSB) System
512 MB RDRAM, PC800, ECC, Unbuffered
    Dell Part #: A0276519, Manufacturer Part #: D1T483
    Usually Ships: Within 24 Hours
    Condition: New $294.95

Or they have: DELL - 512 MB Module for a Dell Dimension 8200 Series (533 MHz FSB) System
512 MB RDRAM, PC800, ECC, Unbuffered
    Dell Part #: A0285710, Manufacturer Part #: D1T483

Iam not sure if i have a 400 FSB or a 533 FSB system and how do i find this out?

I know Crucial sells Dell-specific RAM. However, RDRAM isn't really used anymore, wasn't popular, and is proprietary, so don't expect it to be very cheap. Also, you will likely need to buy it in pairs.

    Big B,
You say that RDRAM, was'nt real popular, So can i change it or do i have to stay with RDRAM. And if i decided too go ahead and get a stick of 512 with what i already have would i notice that much of a diff, bringing me too 768 mb of ram?

You have to get RDRAM in this case. I don't know what motherboard you have, but I can almost guarantee that you will have to buy some RAM in pairs. You can't just buy one stick due to the design of RDRAM needing to have termination in the empty slots with Conuity RIMMs (CRIMM) and the dual-channel setup with RDRAM.

Thanks Guys for the info, Dell got me again? Its been a great PC but the memory is pricey, I cant wait too build my own someday, Iam just a novice at this computer stuff, but have already read alot just from joining this fourm, i guess i will save my money and save for the dream machine?? plus my daughter just called me and she thinks her video card is starting to go, so dad will be checking on a new card for my baby, i just hope its not intergrated too her mobo? I may be asking for some help on that (video card) problem..... Again Thanks for all the info on my dell memory.
