DSL and cable are not offered in my area. I want to purchase a reliable dial-up modem that works well for gaming. I see there are soft modems and hardware modems. What would I do better with, and does one brand perform better than other? Thanks.
Well first let me just say that no Dialup modem is good for gaming because they are so slow. You'd be better off with a hardware modem as the modem does all the work and not the CPU like with Softmodems, saving precious CPU cycles. Bascially, a modem is a modem, but i prefer D-Link over the others.
