different mouse receivers

i purchased a Logitech MX 610 wireless mouse and it came with a USB receiver.
i seem to have lost the receiver, however i have another one that is the same brand and same power (2.4ghz) i plugged the receiver into my usb and turn on the wireless mouse, and it doesn't work. is there some way i can set it or a program that can help get the two to work together? thank you.

just press the "connect" button on the receiver then on the mouse (i think)

ya i did that and it doesnt do anything, and the receiver im trying to use is not the same design as the one that comes with the mx610 but from a newer model mouse. looks mostly the same its still Logitech and a USB 2.4Ghz receiver. im wondering if i can get it to work with my mouse.

i can only assume that they are not compatible with each other, although i would have thought they would be, the only thing i can suggest is contacting Logitech or try going though their support pages

BTW: i couldn't find a clear pic of the receiver online, or a manual for the mouse
