hi there dudes,its not actually my problemo,its my frends,,he wants to play some games,but as usual now games require directx9..i gave him my copy of directx9.0c,i installed it in my pc successfully, but theres an error message when he tries to install it in his pc..it says it cannot install directx with the current version of windows...he has a windowsXP pro....he dsnt hav any service pack installed...is it necessary...ive got SP1 installed in my pc....but i havnt tried installing it in his pc...im totally sure that the directx9.0c version i gave to him works.cos it doesnt giv me any error msg...he has got P4 1.5ghz 32mb onboard graphics...
I would get him to get a fresh copy off: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/directx/default.aspx Strange.. Problem!?! If you use the microsoft installer it should find problems if there is any...and download the apropriate patches...(that is the web based installer)
what kinda video card ya got? im pretty sure ati can only run on 9.0b. nvidia supports 9.0c tho i could be wrong but i dont think so.
that's why. I'm almost positive the onboard video doesn't support directx9.0, but 8.1 my onboard video's on 2 seperate motherboards only supported 8.1
ok ill just tell him to go buy himself a video card...if he gets some finance from his mom...hahahaha
