Drives not working

    There is something wrong with my computer. i have windows xp pro and two cd burners one is a cd burner and the other one is a dvd burner they both stopped working the computer wont recognize it. the power works well the cd tray goes in and out. i was thinking about reinstalling windows but i cant.


    and do any of you guys know a network and channel were i can get more help???

    are the jumpers set CS, or are they set with master>slave?

    have you installed dodgy drivers? The hook driver Insektors 3.0 had a bug which stopped your comp from recognising drives. You might have to install some of the firmware from the manufacturers site.

    ninja one is on master and the other one is on slave.

    addis i tried going to the manufactures site and they dont have any drivers.

    what if you only use one of the drives? does it work?

    Which is master, and which is slave? Is the one on the end of the IDE chain the master, or the slave? Also, have you tried reinstalling the chipset drivers?

    P.S. - Triple-check that the cable is not damaged or partially unplugged!
