dual display using dvi

Hi,

jus recently purcashed a dell optiplex gx280. It has 2 visual display outputs, one is the DVI, and the other is the standard on board VGA.

I have connected my monitor (using a vga to dvi adapter) to the DVI connection, and want to have a second monitor connected on the vga port, but no matter what settings i try or swap arround anything, it will just not work???

Help? any ideas?

p.s this is my first post, so hope i have given all information that is required, forgive me if i havent

Make sure that the graphics for your card is installed as most bundled software will have multi-display configuration software.
