DVD Burner question

I have a dvd burner that can burn dvd+r at 8x. The blank dvd+r also can be burned at 8x. I am useing nero burn my dvds. Is it better to burn the dvds at a slower speed like 4X or does it make any differents if its 8x or 4x. Please help me with this question if you can.

It only really makes a difference on CD's, as on CD's the faster you burn them they are more prone to have errors and scratch easier!
 
Thanks for all the help. Would anyabody know of a good stand alone dvd player that with play dvd+r. Looking something that is about $60. Please help if you can.
