Error : C00D1199: Cannot play the file - Windows media player

    Hi, i have windows media player 10 and i cant play avi videos, it comes up with
    Is there anything like a codec i need to download to be able to play them???

    I recall I had the same problem ages ago. Downloading these 2, fixed things for me (though I'm not sure which one did the trick!). Anyway, it's worth a try!

    Free-Codecs.com :: Download Cole2k Media Nero Audio Plugin Pack 1.5.3
    Download XP Codec Pack 1.3.4 - XP Codec Pack is one of the most complete codec pack

    The above tools should install the correct codecs, but its important to realise that AVI is not actually a codec, only a video/audio "package" format. The xVid/DivX codec is probably whats needed most of the time.
