So I ordered some parts for my friend, and set up his new computer, in exchange for which, I traded him my x2 6000 for his FX-62. I figured they were fairly equal processors, and I just wanted the FX as sort of a status symbol.
But now, specifically when playing counterstrike source, I'm having heat shutdowns, and I seriously caught it running at 83c! So my question, basically, is do you think my old x2 6000 stock cooling isn't cutting it for the fx, or is there something else wrong, like maybe not a clean layer of thermal paste or something? I've got this baby clocked as low as she will go for now, probably just going to wait on the next paycheck, and put a good amount of money into cooling. If you guys can come up with any other potential solutions, I would love to hear them.

After replacing a CPU or cooler, it's always wise to clean the thermal paste on both the CPU and the cooler. Then apply a new layer of thermal paste on the CPU.
