If you haven't heard, Sierra will release the full multiplayer component for the popular game F.E.A.R. August 17, 2006. Sierra Entertainment today announced that the multiplayer component from the award winning PC title F.E.A.R.™ (First Encounter Assault Recon), has been renamed F.E.A.R. Combat, and will be made available to the public as a free download on Thursday August 17th, 2006. JoinFEAR. Of course, should you desire the single player component, you will need to shell out for that.
Eh?? I thought F.E.A.R. already HAD a multiplayer component. Not too long ago, I played F.E.A.R. multiplayer and got my super-soldier bum handed to me. Is this introducing squad based combat or more multiplayer modes?
So am I right in assuming the free multiplayer component can be played without F.E.A.R? Or will I have to buy the game in order to take advantage of this? I haven't clicked on the link yet as I was wondering whether it might run on Linux. I have a computer with Windows installed on, but it's only a P3 1.0GHz
F.E.A.R. Combat is a standalone game which is in reality the exact same multiplayer component as the original's. People who play F.E.A.R. Combat can play with people who have the full version of the game, and vice-versa obviously.

yea i downloaded it, quite quick, about 270kb/s avarage. I havent tried it yet, still cant be botherd, playing unreal tournament 2004 lol
