Welcome to HardwareForums. Now, I believe there's some confusion as regards to this matter, so I'll explain: It smells like site pimping, that's why. We tend to suspect people that come in here, and post something like "OMG, Check out this site!!!!11!!!" as their first post. We're not saying you are, but it's certainly suspcious, and trust me, if I, or another admin are able to determine that you are doing self promotion, there will be a one-way ticket to banville. This isn't personal. We simply don't want people coming here and using this site to promote their own website. If it's a useful link, it's fine, even if it's the poster's site. What we don't want is someone simply linking their own website simply for promotion of that site. Bans don't happen without conclusive evidence, and right now, I don't have the evidence needed to justify a ban.
