Anybody know of an any problems games have with amd's dual core processor range. Dont want to get one and find that i cant play stuff i used to.
I haven't heard of any games having problems as most games will only use one core, only games written to utilise both cores will use the power of both cores.
So on subject of games it would probably be best to spend the money on a better single core amd 64 chip? Are there any games out yet that can utilize the two cores?
It depends, if you think you do a lot of multi-tasking then a dual core chip would be a smart move, they still perform very well in games, but if you want every last fps you can get then a single core chip performs better. There may be games written to take advantage of the two cores but I'm honestly not too sure if there are/what they are as I'm not really a gamer.
There's been some suggestions that Quake 4 can, and Quake 3 could use 2 CPU's (which has been around for a long time and applies to the dual-cores), but the performance equals jack. Now, if you're interested in doing video editing and heavy photo editing, then, yes, a dual-core chip would be a great buy. However, if this is strictly a frag box, then no, a dual core isn't your best investment.
