Hey fellas, sorry to come on here and ask for help straight away.. smack me hard if you feel the need :)

    My system:-

    Asus A7V333 mobo
    Athlon 1.4Ghz
    Memory 266mhz 512MB
    Geforce: Abit Siluro 4600
    OS: WinXP Pro
    Driver: 52.16
    HDDs: Maxtor 20GB(M)/120GB(S)

I have been having a singular problem for over 4 months now.. I have through tried various methods to correct it with no avail, When my PC has been on for a day or two, suddenly without much notice a purple set of vertical lines appear over the cursor, and then the PC blinks a couple of time, then The PC either completely freezes up or comes up with "your system has just recovered from a serious error" When I go to event viewer, it just says its a driver issue and to install a new driver. I have tried this many a time, I have switched HDDs .. every time every 2 - 3 days this happens. What is the matter?

I thought the "True vector" message was something do with it.. that is untill I learned it was something do with Zonealarm.. I uninstalled in the hope that it might change something.. again to no avail.. it just happened a couple of minutes ago.. My PC is rarely off is this a contributing factor? I am sick and tired of it doing this.. I only bought the card in June 02, arent they supposed to last for longer than this?

I am very apreciative of any help you may provide, thank you :)
