Getting a new HDD

I decided to get a new HDD for my PC. The one I decided is a IDE Maxtor 80 GB 72000 RPM with an 8MB buffer. Its the cheapest 8MB buffer drive I found i my country. Is it a good decsion?

Im going to install the operating system and programs on my new HDD and leave the old HDD to store music, documents, pictures etc... Is it a good idea ?

My current HDD is a Seagate 60GB 5200 rpm drive.
 
While some people are going to cry out with "Maxtor sucks" lately, they seem to be doing alright from my usage (I haven't had to RMA a Maxtor drive for quite some time). As far as transferring stuff to the new drive, given the fact that it's likely newer, and has more density on the platters AND the faster spindle speed (5400RPM v 7200RPM), that's a wise decision.
 
I'd say its an excellent choice I like maxtors been working with them for a while my preferences are Maxtors and Western Digi even tho they r both quite loud both models have given me years of excellent use :)
