This may seem out of topic but I'm having some trouble with my new PC machine. I just upgraded from the following:

    - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

    Asus A7V8X-X
    AMD AthlonXP +2500
    GeForce Ti4600 128 DDR
    512 - DDR Ram PC27000
    WD Caviar SE 120GB 7200RPM 8MB SATA HDD, 3Yr
    ATX 350 Power Supply

    To

    Asus P4P800S-X
    Pentium 4 2500
    GeForce Ti4600 128 DDR
    512 - DDR Ram PC27000
    WD Caviar SE 120GB 7200RPM 8MB SATA HDD, 3Yr
    ATX 350 Power Supply

    - Running Windows XP Pro. -
    - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Basically all I did was update my Motherboard and CPU. I formatted but I couldn't get it to work properly, it would not start up (Monitor would not boot) half the time and when it did, I got into windows and when I started putting the system on load, I would get blue kernal errors. It would also give me "Virtual memory too low" and I couldn't even load up any games. I got my friend to look at it and he ended up fixing it by updating the BIOS and adding a PCI Video card, without this card the monitor won't start, I have no clue why so don't ask me. Anyway, it seems to run fine except some problems.

Everytime the HDD Lite blinks, the system sort of skips - the mouse skips and music cuts in and out. This espically happens when I load applications or put the system on load. It also always skips when I play music directly from my DVDr player. Now, the DVDr player is brand new and it was working fine on my other system, so I'm gussing its something system related.

All the parts on my other system worked fine and never had problems.

If anyone is as kind to help me out, it would be greatly apprechiated! :D

1: Wht did you upgrade your system? By the looks of it your had a perfectly capable system before and I can't imagine your upgrade increasing gaming performance since Athlons are generally better in that area.

Whats your system temps like? Maybe theres a heat issue.

Hi m8, i would check all your memory is seated correctly and that you clock speeds on your motherboard are set properly for your cpu,ram e.t.c.Also is there any beeps when it starts up and if so how many because these can correspond to your problems have a look in your motherboard manual, also some motherboards have a littles display on them with error codes (like the abit an7) check these code's (if there are any) in your motherboard book. Hope it helps Dave
