hello!
I recently added a second hard drive to my computer. Now when I put a dvd into my second rom i recieve a D:filepath not accessible. How can I make my two rom / burner drives access my C: drive? (this is where my os and programs are loaded. second drive is just for storage.

While there's some registry hacks you can do as well as reinstalling the programs from the optical drives over themselves, the easiest way (in Win2k/XP) is to do this:

Right-click 'My Computer'. Go to 'Manage'. Go to Disk Management. Right click on the drive you want to change the letter on. The first option on the menu that pops up will allow you to change the drive letter. Follow the wizard.

You'll probably have to juggle the letters around to get it where you want, but basically, that's where you go and what you do to get the job done.

Thanks for the quick reply,it gave me some very useful info.It turns out I had accidentally deleted my dvd player:swear: :O
So from this noob to you thanks again and have a great new year!

If you've accidentally uninstalled it, go to the add new hardware wizard and search for hardware added already. Then windows should install it again.
