    Hallo people,
every time i boot up my pc ( asus p4p800 ,p4 2.6,512mb) i get a usb controller detected message and when i try to install the driver it is not detected in windows (xp pro) or on my motherboards instalation cd. if i cancel the install the pc works fine but i get that anoying yellow icon in the device manager. I have tried various drivers from intel and asus but cant seem to match the driver to this mystery hardware, whats even more puzzling is that all my usb ports seem to work fine
    hope someone has the answer

USB ports don't actually need any drivers to function (apart from USB2) so they'll still work without drivers. I'd leave it alone as long as transfer speeds are ok. I don't install drivers for USB 1.1 myself.

If you do want to install them then you might want ot try the latest chipset drivers?

Make sure you have at least Service Pack 1 installed for XP. If that's done already, reinstall the USB root hub in Device Manager.
