Hi I'm looking at building a computer for someone and have a £300 budget. I will need:

amd cpu
motherboard (integrated graphics, audio)
memory
dvd-rewriter
case + power supply
hard drive (dont need much space, 30gb or above will do)

... and if any of my budget is left any additional features (wireless keyboard, mouse or woteva)

Thanks in advance!

Cheers, Mark

Do you (they) have anything specofic they want to be able to do with the machine? (general use, gaming etc)

They just need it for Internet use, downloading. Just general use really, it won't be used for games, so graphics don't need to be anything special, although it will be used for watching videos from the internet.

Cheers, Mark

This should do it:

Motherboard: MSI K9NGM-L £42.97 inc VAT
CPU: Sempron 3000+ (AM2) £33.96 inc VAT
RAM: Kingston DDR2-533 2x512MB £85.69 inc VAT
Hard Drive: Seagate 80GB SATA II £30.31 inc VAT
Optical Drive: Lite-ON 16x DVDRW £19.97 inc VAT
Power Supply: Seasonic S12 380W £38.04 inc VAT
Case: CoolerMaster Centurion 534 £44.98 inc VAT

Total: £295.92 inc VAT

Yeah, you can get a smaller hard drive, but the savings are so piddly, it's silly.
Since it does have integrated graphics, I wouldn't drop past 512MB, given that part of the system RAM will be hijacked for the graphics RAM.

The Build in Big_B's post are amounst the best you will find!

i would go with thoose

Yeah. Deffo agree with that one.
Unless you're willing to spend hours and hours trawling through the net and days looking for second hand components. Which is down to you really. You've got some bloomin good guidlines to go off there though bud. A real tough one to beat.
