Hello, I have a question about mini-pci cards and such. I recently purchased a mini-PCI TypeIII wlan card off of Ebay, only later to find that my notebook (Dell Inspiron 6400) doesn't support mini-PCI Type III (yes, I know, it was my own fault). Since the purchase was on Ebay there was no way of me returning it and getting my money back. My question is - is there anything I can do to get this card working in some fashion? I've heard of mini-PCI TypeIII to PCI converters (for use in my PC) but was unsure about it. Any thoughts? -Locke
Yeah, that would be an option from what I see. Only thing is that it would cost me about the same as I paid for the card... Thanks anyhow, I'll try to see if there might be a local supplier of the same type of part.
I'm a bit rusty on the Types I, II, and III PCMCIA cards (mini-PCI), but from what I understand, Type I can accomodate (1) Type I card. Type II can accept (1) Type II card or (2) Type I. Type III can accept the following combinations: (1) Type I, (2) Type I, (1) Type I and (1)Type II, (1) Type II, or (1) Type III.
had a look, can't find any in ca, tried using Google - nothing, the nearest i can find to you is this, sorry
don't know about mini pci cards, but if you're interested i have a wireless internet card that you stick on the side of you laptop just lying around. You can have it if you want. Looks like this
