HD Graphic Cards

    O.k, I realy dont know much about hardware so bare with me:

    What advantages do I get by using an HD video graphic card? I mainly need to know if the ONLY way of importing an HD video footage is with an HD gfx, but in gneral I would love to know about every single advantage an Hd Card offers.
