^^Hahaha thats alliteration^^ Anyways, I recently decided once and for all to support that monster HSF of mine. Links to the Heatsink and fans will be at the end so you can see the weight I'm dealing with. I'll attach pictures of the project in various stages of completion too. As I was doing this project I thought it would be helpful to anybody with a monster HSF or somebody that might be getting one. I looked at a few options before I came up with one that worked, The first thing I tried was to use wire tied to the HSF to support it. Well lets just say that didn't work. I was afraid the weight could actually break my motherboard so I had to do something, so here is what I did. Step 1-I decided to use those little bamboo florist stick things. My mom used to be a florist so we had like 50.000 of those things laying around. You can probably pick them up at any florist, but if not, just get some wooden dowels. Step 2-I measured how long the stick thing needed to be, then cut it to length. I tested it before I painted it to make sure it fit. Step 3-I painted the stick thing black, but you can obviously aint it any color you want, I don't care. I just used that Testors model enamel, because once again, I had it laying around. If you don't get it at a hobby shop. You can also use any other kind of paint, once again, I don't really care. Step 4-After it is dried stick it under the HSF and you're good to go. Well thats about it. Here are those links: Here is the heatsink Here are the fans (I have 2 on it)
haha, i got the ultimate mod that you can do BAMBOO PC! that'd be amazing, with a green light inside that kind of shines trhough the sticks
Yea, if only florists sold computers. But judging by my mom, former florists can't do **** with computers.
