help converting avi files to dvd

Hi, I have several avi files on my pc that I want to convert to DVD so to watch on my dvd player, does anyone know of any good software, preferably free or with a free trial so I can test before I purchase of how I can do this?

Try Nero 6, i think it should be able to create DVDs from video files.
