ok well i have been trying to install a new harddrive and it showing up in the bIOS but know in windows i have windows98 and i have the command line up but what do i do i dont want to format my old drive just the new one so i can use it megamaced told me to do fdisk but i dont know how so any help would be why much usefull i have and 80 GB western digital and i think i can only use a 8.5 GB one or some thing like that also i feel like a super noob asking this but there is no menu so... how do u get the command line window out of fullscreen
Not familiar with partitioning in Windows 98, but you could try reading the following guide which has information on how to use fdisk under the 'Partitioning the new hard drive' section. To create a Windows 98 boot diskette, click Start / Settings / Control Panel / double-click the Add Remove programs icon / click the Startup Disk and create disk. The only thing you need for this is a floppy. Leave that floppy in your computer. Restart your computer, press delete or f2 key to enter into CMOS. Change your first boot device to Floppy, save and exit. you computer will enter into the dos mode. Press A:/ to enter into floppy drive......... thank u for the help with fdisk it got my harddrive working im so happy now but i dont want to install win98 on my new drive my friend has a win 98 boot disk i used b4 when i use Window Warsher and (what i though i did)told it so "scan C:/" but i realy told it to delets the one and only drive i had so i had no more os that was a fun problem to fix
