I've just ordered a new set of bits 'n pieces to make up a new PC. I've included a SATA drive (Western Digital Caviar 80Gb) for the Asus (Asus A7N8X-E Deluxe SKTA NVNorce2ST ATX 8xAGP Giga LAN, SATA, Firewire, 6
channel Audio, USB2 Dual chan. DDR +WiFi slot (up to DDR400)) SATA motherboard.

However, my older pc Hard Disk contains all my stuff. My question is if I want to is it possible to just transfer the hard disk from my old PC into the new PC with the SATA drive (ie there is the older IDE? type HDD as well as the new SATA)

    Help very much apprec.

Yes, but you won't necessarily be able to boot to the OS if you just swap out motherboards first. Just setup the new system without the older hard drive. Then put in the older hard drive, drag the stuff you want off the older drive, and format it to make sure the OS on that drive doesn't come back to give you trouble later on.
